        Students are able to understand the pronunciation rules as well as reading, spelling and writing the words containing “o” and “oo”.

        Teaching procedures

        Step 1: Lead in

        Teacher will sing a song together with the students and then ask them some questions.

        Step 2: Presentation

        1) Showing four pictures of the little fox’s story and leading out the new words. For example, for picture one “A little fox is lost in a fog”, teacher will lead out the word “fog”. The word “fog” will be written on the blackboard. The other words will be written on the blackboard as the same way.

        2) Find the pronunciation rules. Students will asked to find the similarity of the pronunciation of the words. After that, students will listen to the tape and find the pronunciation rules.

        Step 3: Practice

        1) Group work. Students can read the words following the tape. After that, they can read the words in groups.

        2) Students can listen to and sing the chant about this pronunciation.

        Step 4: Production

        Teacher will present more words containing letters “o” and “oo” that they haven’t learned before. Students will try to read them according to the pronunciation rules.

        Step 5: Summary and homework

        1. Summary

        Teacher leads them to summarize what they have learned in this class.

        2. Homework

        Read the new words and tell partners about the pronunciation of the words containing “o” and “oo”.
